39 out of 77 illegal buildings in the Shwe Kokko area of Myawaddy Township, Kayin State, where online gambling scams have been established, has systematically demolished as of June 6, according to a news release.
The demolition of illegal buildings in Shwe Kokko area is being carried out systematically, classifying the buildings according to their types. Of the 77 building , 57 will be demolished by vehicles and machinery, and 20 will be demolished by explosives. On June 6, three more buildings were systematically demolished by vehicles and machinery, bringing the total number of buildings to 39, and the remaining 38 will continue to be demolished.
The government has taken the fight against online gambling scams as a national responsibility and is working in coordination with local forces and neighboring countries to completely eliminate them in Myanmar, according to a news release.
