A drug smuggling gang transporting more than 5.7 million stimulant pills worth over eight billion kyats from Shan State to Rakhine State, according to a statement released by the Myanmar Police Force.
A joint team including anti-narcotics police members seized 500,000 stimulant pills when the drugs on a Toyota Prado car driven by Aung Zaw Oo was transferring to an I-ZONE car driven by Bo Bo Aung carrying Zin Thu Aung and Aung Pyae Phyo near the toll gate on the Pyay-Aunglan Highway at 12:30 pm on June 4. It was revealed that the person who transported the drugs from Shan State to Rakhine State to sell was identified as Tun Si and his wife Nan Shwe Yin (aka Nan Mong Kham) (aka Nan Kham Kya), and the person who transported and sold the drugs in Rakhine State was identified as Tin Tin Kyaw (aka Rakhine), the statement said.

Legal action has been taken against the arrested members of the drug trafficking gang, and investigations are underway to arrest more related suspects. In addition, the police are continuing to take action under the Anti-Money Laundering Law to seize the financial benefits and assets obtained from drug trafficking as public funds, the statement said.
