A man arrested for raping and murdering an 8-year-old girl in TachilekTownship, Shan State (Eastern) was shot dead while fleeing on August 6, according to Shan State Police.
When the perpetrator, Thurain Htun, was being taken for questioning by security personnel on the afternoon of August 6, he attacked the security personnel and tried to flee with a weapon, resulting in his death after being shot by the security personnel.
The perpetrator’s body has been sent to Tachilek District General Hospital, and an inquest was opened at Hongleik Police Station in Tachilek Township.
The perpetrator raped and murdered an eight-year-old girl from Wan Hong Ward, Tachilek Township, under the pretext of buying her snacks. He then threw the body of the girl into a creek and hid it. The case was opened at the Hongleik Police Station in Tachilek Township on August 4.
