On the first day of the first regular session of the third Pyithu Hluttaw, U Maung Maung Ohn, a Pyithu Hluttaw representative from Tatkone constituency, was elected as the Deputy Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw. In the nomination form submitted for the Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw only U U Maung Maung Ohn was submitted and has been elected as the Deputy Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw, announced prsiding chairperson of the Pyithu Hluttaw Dr. Nanda Kyaw Swar.
U Khin Yi, a Pyithu Hluttaw representative from Zayar Thiri constituency, was elected as the Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw.On the first day of the first regular session of the third Pyithu Hluttaw, all 263 Pyithu Hluttaw representatives elected by the people and 110 Pyithu Hluttaw representatives from the Tatmadaw, a total of 373 Pyithu Hluttaw representatives, attended the meeting.
