The Ministry of Health has announced that the Department of Dental and Oral Diseases has been opened at the Specialist Hospital (Mingalardon) in Mingalardon Township, Yangon Region, starting on June 3. The Ministry of Health said that the opening was to provide access to quality dental and oral health care to the public.
The Ministry of Health said that the opening ceremony of the Dental and Oral Disease Specialist Center was held on June 3 and was attended by the Union Minister for Health, Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win, the Chief Minister of the Yangon Region Government, U Aung Naing Thu, and regional government ministers and officials. The Union Minister, the Region Chief Minister and the Minister of Social Affairs opened the specialist center cutting the ribbon and observing fitting dentures to 50 monks, receiving medical treatment and toured the dental and oral disease treatment rooms and X-ray rooms.
In Yangon Region, dental and oral disease specialist departments are open at Thakayta Specialist Hospital and Yangon University Hospital, and Mingaladon Specialist Hospital has just expanded its services. The newly opened dental and oral disease specialist department offers services such as tooth extraction, fillings, dental implants, scaling and dental veneers, according to the Ministry of Health.
