The Yangon Region Tourism Committee has approved hotel business projects worth 17.5 billion kyats, according to the Yangon Region Government. The approval was made at the Yangon Region Tourism Committee meeting held on August 14.
Among them, two hotel building construction permits, three hotel business licenses, one motel business license, 56 renewals and services, one guesthouse business license, 177 domestic tourism business license extensions , 71 international tourism business license extensions were approved. Furthermore, 36 domestic tourism business license extensions and 34 international tourism business license extensions were granted with the prior approval of the Region Government. The investment in the hotels and guesthouses that were granted for these business licenses is 17.5 billion kyats, and it has created job opportunities for 58 workers.
