U Khin Yi, the representative of the Zeyar Thiri constituency, has been elected as the Speaker of the third Pyithu Hluttaw, announced the presiding chairperson of the Pyithu Hluttaw Dr. Nanda Kyaw Swar. In the nomination form submitted for the Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw only U Khin Yi was submitted and has been elected as the Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw.
On the first day of the first regular session of the third Pyithu Hluttaw, a total of 263 elected representatives and 110 Tatmadaw representatives, a total of 373 Pyithu Hluttaw representatives, attended the session.
