The National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) convened a discussion with political parties registered in accord with the Political Parties Registration Law on matters related to a successful holding of the General Election.
The discussion was held at the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Center and attended by Negotiation Committee Chairman Lieutenant General Tun Tun Naung , committee members and officials from 51 political parties.
In the meeting, Negotiation Committee Chairman urged to tackle the problems on the basic of understanding and accepting the differences together with union spirit and to propergate national spirit and nationalism without regional, racial and ideologiical bias.
He continued to explain the discussions with the political parties on matters that should amend the Constitution of 2008, situations of peace process based on NCA implementation to spread peace and tranquility among the people and building union based on democracy and federalism.
Then, the 15 officials from political parties presented their opinions and suggestions on building a union based on democracy and federalism and the first day of the meeting was concluded. The second day of the meeting was scheduled to hold on 6 December.
