Necessary protection must be provided to political party members and candidates participating in the election from the campaign period to the voting period, said Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing made the remarks at the first meeting of the State Security and Peace Commission held on August 12. There are potential domestic and foreign sabotage attempts to disrupt the election. Therefore, effective protection will be required for civil servants and the public. In addition, the election must be held without any delay, and efforts must be made to ensure a free and fair election, free from fraud, said Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
