The body of a three-year-old girl was found murdered after removing her gold earrings in a ditch in the Ngwe Pinle Industrial Zone near Shwepyitha Bridge in Ale Village, Hlaingthaya (East) Township, Yangon Region, on May 28, an official of the Driver Families Youth Social Assistance Association said.
The deceased child lives in Aungthabyay 4 Street, Rakhineyolay Village, Htantabin Township, and a woman in her 30s came to the child’s house on May 27 saying that she was looking for a house to rent. The woman then said that she would buy the child and her brother some snacks and take them outside. Later, the brother was sent back home. After that, the woman who took the child with her also disappeared, and the child’s body was found the next morning, an official of the social assistance association said.

When the child’s body was found, her gold earrings had been taken off, and the relevant police are conducting an investigation to be able to arrest the suspect. A resident commented on the incident saying that parents should not let their young children wear gold or silver jewelry as it is inviting danger to their children.
