Myanmar will work closely with China to deepen multi-sectoral cooperation for the common interests of the peoples of both countries, Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said.
He made the remarks at the ceremony to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of establishment of diplomatic relations between Myanmar and China held at the Mingalar Thiri Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on June 8.
Myanmar is located at an important geographical position in the implementation of China’s Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor projects. Therefore, he believes that the timely implementation of these projects will create many opportunities for the two peoples to achieve sustainable prosperity and development together, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said.
Myanmar will work with China to build a community of shared future through good times and bad based on mutual respect and interests, he said thanking China for its support and encouragement in the peace process, national reconciliation and development processes as well as for its assistance and donations for the earthquake relief efforts and the COVID-19 pandemic period.
