Youths should certainly visit and study museums so that they understand the role of museums through being in touch with values of culture, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein said.
He made the remarks at a lecture on awareness of youth development held at the National Museum (Yangon) on May 27 to mark the 48th International Museum Day.
Nowadays, museums have become active learning centers, not only displaying cultural heritage but also creating learning environments. When young people visit museums, they can explore various subjects from history, art to science and technology in one place and gain full knowledge, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein said.

In addition, through cooperating with museums, young people should be more actively involved in the activities to promote youth development, education and cultural preservation, he said.
The event to mark the 48th International Museum Day included educational lectures, Myanmar traditional Chinlone dance and puppetry performances, and it was attended by Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs and Culture Daw Nu Mya Zan, the Chief Minister of Yangon Region and members of Yangon Region Government, officials concerned and students.
