A Tatmadaw helicopter crashed on the afternoon of May 20 while carrying out transport operations in Bhamo Township, Kachin State, after experiencing engine failure, the State Administration Council (SAC) Information Team said.
The Tatmadaw transport helicopters were on their way back returning from a mission to deliver administrative supplies to troops responsible for maintaining peace and security at frontline security posts in Bhamo Township. A helicopter abruptly crashed, after experiencing engine failure, about 14,000 meters southwest of Bhamo,according to the statement.
It was announced that the appropriate authorities were conducting the necessary investigations into the helicopter crash while security forces were conducting search and rescue efforts as well as essential security operations around the crash site. There are also reports on social media that the KIA forces shot down a military helicopter in Bhamo Township.
