The National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) and the Shan Ni Nationalities Unity Association met at the Shwe San Eain Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on June 4, and the participants discussed on the Shan Ni ((Tai Lyan, Tai Laing) ethnic groups living in Kachin State and Sagaing Region and their desire to have a self-administered zone in accordance with the law, according to a press release.
At the meeting, the participants discussed the ongoing situation of regional stability and peace, the Shan Ni (Taiyan, Taiyan) ethnic groups living in Kachin State and Sagaing Region and their desire to have a self-administered zone in accordance with the law, the needs encountered in maintaining regional stability and peace in Kachin State and Sagaing Region, working together with the state government to live together peacefully within the Union, providing humanitarian assistance to people who have fled the fighting, and regional cooperation.
In addition, Vice Chairman (1) of the Shan Red National Unity Organization, Sao Sai Kam said that they will work together with the Tatmadaw for regional stability and peace. He also said that he was happy to participate in the discussion on the 100-day plan of the new government. The Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee, Lt-Gen Yar Pyae ,who attended the discussion, also said that they will continue to coordinate regional development processes and take necessary measures.
