In order to establish a democratic nation, all citizens must respect the law, be united, disciplined and knowledgeable, Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said in his message sent to the ceremony to mark the 51st Anniversary of Mon State Day which falls on March 19.
Now is the time for our country to begin its journey towards becoming a country that practices a democratic system that promotes the universal values of justice, freedom and equality in accordance with the wishes of the people, the message said.
Unity strengthens the strength of the country and promotes development and national interests. If we look at the modern and developing countries of today, we can see that they are built firmly on the strength of unity, the message said.
The message also states that in the current situation of our country, the country is unable to focus on building and instead, is trying with all nation’s strength to protect the nation from destructive elements. As a result, stability and peace are weak, and the nation is still far from development. In addition, in the message, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing urged all ethnic national people to work together to ensure peace and stability throughout the country, which is necessary for holding the election.
