Both sides will continue to strive for the best improvement of Myanmar-China relations, said Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing made the remarks at a meeting with Chinese media at the Shangri-La Hotel in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, on the evening of September 6 local standard time.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said that Myanmar-China relations are currently at an excellent state, and both countries will continue to make efforts to improve them even further. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing also said that his visit to China was a successful one.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit (Summit 2025 Plus) held in Tianjin on September 1. On September 3, he attended the military parade and luncheon commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War in Beijing, and held cordial meetings and discussions with international leaders.
In addition, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing held separate meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith , and Chinese Vice President Han Zheng. In addition, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing also attended talks in Tianjin and Chengdu on enhancing Myanmar-China economic cooperation.
