The Union Election Commission announced on June 9 that it has approved the application for the Rakhine Nationalities Party to establish a party.
The Rakhine Nationalities Party’s application for establishing the political party was approved as it was found to be in line with the Political Parties Registration Law and Rules.
The Rakhine Nationalities Party, which has been allowed to establish a party, must apply to the Union Election Commission as a political party as per Rule 7 of the Political Parties Registration within 30 days from the date of receiving the permission. Those who want to establish a political party have submitted their applications to the Election Commission to establish a party. So far, 27 groups have applied for party establishment, of which 17 have been granted permission to establish parties.

Among the parties allowed to be established, the Chin New Congress Party applied to the Election Commission on June 9 to register as a political party in accordance with the Political Parties Registration Rule 7. In addition, out of the 16 political parties that applied for registration, 14 parties were granted registration, and the Election Commission is continuing to scrutinize the remaining parties to allow them to register.
