Following the multi-party democratic general election, measures must be made to guarantee complete convening of the Hluttaws at the regional and state levels and the Union level, said Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
The Senior General made the remarks during a meeting with the members and families from Kengtung Station at the Pyay Nyein Aye Hall of the Triangle Region Command Headquarters on May 23.
He also stated that everyone should cooperate in order to hold the election and that candidates who can genuinely serve the interests of the nation and the region should be selected. He also said that the Tatmadaw must also serve as a hardcore for the successful holding of the election and for stability and peace in the country. He also said that since responsibility for the country was taken in accordance with the Constitution, it is imperative to hold a multi-party democratic general election.
Voting procedures will be conducted using electronic voting machines that can reduce voter mistake in order to ensure a clean election, and preparations have been made to hold it as quickly as possible. The date of the multi-party democratic general election has been set and will be announced in advance, according to a statement issued by the Union Election Commission.
