The Korea-Myanmar Friendship (Dala) Bridge, which is being built across the Yangon River, is currently 85 percent completed, U Kyaw Kaung Cho, Director-General of the Bridge Department, told One News.
Currently, only the main bridge construction work remains in the Korea-Myanmar Friendship (Dala) Bridge project. The bridge is expected to be completed by the end of this year, and efforts are being made to complete it as soon as possible within the specified time frame, said U Kyaw Kaung Cho. He also said that the government will investigate and prosecute those who spread fake news about the collapse of the Yangon Dala Bridge due to a ship collision.

The ship-hit bridge that is being shared on social media is a picture of a ship hitting a river bridge in Manila, Philippines, during a typhoon in 2024. The Korea-Myanmar Friendship (KMB) River Bridge is being built at a total cost of more than US$188 million, including a loan from the Korea Economic Development Fund and government contributions.
