A report in the English language by an online news outlet called Silicon Valley Times claiming that India and KIA have signed a rare earth deal is false, according to an official from the Indian Embassy in Myanmar.
When contacted by One News, an official from the Myanmar Embassy in India confirmed that the report was false. The report, titled “India’s Covert Pact with Myanmar Rebel Group Exposed ,” also claimed that India and KIA have formed a direct alliance to extract rare earth minerals.
In addition, according to satellite imagery and cross-border intelligence, India has built a 365-kilometer road network from Vijaynagar in Arunachal Pradesh to a rare earth mining site in Chipwe, Myanmar, according to the Silicon Valley Times report.
In addition, the Silicon Valley Times also reported that there is a secret plan to build a second strategic road from the KIA headquarters through Sagaing Region to Rihkhawdar in Chin State. An official from the Indian Embassy in Myanmar said that this report is fake news and misinformation.
