Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw met with Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Ms. Ma Jia at the Athinkhaya Yeiktha in Sagaing Region on May 30 morning to discuss the reconstruction of earthquake-hit buildings in Sagaing Region, according to the Sagaing Region Government.
At the meeting, they discussed cooperation in reconstruction of schools, residential buildings and markets in the city of Sagaing that were damaged by the earthquake. The Chief Minister and the Chinese Ambassador also visited the site where the new Shwe Min Wun Market will be built in Sagaing.
In addition, on May 29, the second cash donation ceremony was held for earthquake-affected people in Sagaing, and more than 1.5 billion kyats were donated.
