The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar hosted a book launch ceremony for “Voices from the Heart of Pauk Phaw,” a collection of stories commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Myanmar, on June 18 at the Wyndham Grand Hotel in Yangon. The ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn and relevant officials, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ms. Ma Jia and officials from the Chinese Embassy, authors who submitted friendship stories, and invited guests.

First, a historical video documenting Myanmar-Chinese friendship was shown, followed by an introductory statement by Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, Ms. Ma Jia. Then, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn delivered a speech. By pressing a button on the LED screen, Chinese Ambassador Ms. Ma Jia and Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn launched the book “Voices from the Heart of Pauk Phaw”. Next, relevant officials introduced the writers and language experts from various fields who had written and submitted stories of friendship in Myanmar and Chinese.
Then, the winners of the first, second, third and the outstanding prizes were awarded among those who had written and compiled their friendship stories. The book, which is being launched today, collects friendship stories from various organizations in China and Myanmar and presents them to readers in both Chinese and Myanmar languages. Readers will have an interesting experience reading about the strong relationship and the hope of marching together towards a better future through stories and poems written by people from both countries.
