The Myanmar Rice Federation said that 259,501.3 tonnes of rice and broken rice were exported in May. 60 companies exported 147,882.3 tonnes of rice and 111,619 tonnes of broken rice through sea and border trade routes.
The rice was mostly exported to the Philippines, China, Spain, and the Netherlands, with a total of 30 countries. Similarly, broken rice was exported to Belgium, China, Indonesia, the Netherlands, and the UK, with a total of 15 countries.
More than 400,000 tonnes of rice and broken rice have been exported in the first two months of this financial year, according to data from the MRF. In the 2024-2025 financial year, more than 2.48 million tonnes of rice and broken rice were exported, earning an export revenue of US$1.129 billion.
