The Myanmar Rice Federation issued a statement on July 8 that over US$200 million had been earned from exporting more than 600,000 tons of rice and broken rice in the first three months of the fiscal year.
In April of the fiscal year, US$52 million earned from exporting more than 140,000 tons of rice and broken rice, US$91 million from exporting more than 250,000 tons of rice and broken rice in May and US$71 million from exporting more than 200,000 tons of rice and broken rice in June. Compared to the same three months of the previous fiscal year 2024-2025, nearly US$40 million more earned from exporting rice and broken rice, the statement said.
According to the statement, in terms of rice and broken rice exports, the largest export was made by sea to the countries such as China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Spain, Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy. In the last fiscal year, nearly two and a half million tons of rice and broken rice were exported, earning an revenue of more than US$1.1 billion.
