A forum to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Myanmar-China diplomatic relations was held on June 5 at the China-Myanmar Oil and Gas Pipeline Project Office in Amarapura Township, Mandalay Region. The forum was attended by Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung and members of the regional government, and Mandalay-based Chinese Consul General Ms. Gao Ping and officials.
At the ceremony, the Mandalay Region Chief Minister and the Chinese Consul General expressed their commitment to further enhance relations for many years to come starting from the 75th anniversary of China-Myanmar diplomatic relations, to develop cooperation in all field, to build a community of Swemyo Pauk Phaw relationship through weal and woe and to collaborate for the regional peace and tranquality. Ms. Gao Ping, Chinese Consulate General in Mandalay, said that China always views Myanmar as a family member, a close partner and a good neighbor. Furthermore, the Chinese Consulate General office in Mandalay, South-East Asia Crude Oil Pipeline Co.,Ltd (SEAOP) and Myanmar Conch Cement Co.,Ltd donated Ks.1.6 billion to rebuild the Mandalay General Hospital and Ks.1.4 billion to rebuild Mandalay Jivitadana Sangha Hospital, which were received by the officials.

Then, the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding. Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung said that he hoped and believed that Myanmar-China relations would improve in the future. Afterwards, the Chief Minister of Mandalay Region and the Consul General presented certificates of appreciation to businessmen who helped with the damage caused by the Mandalay earthquake.
