Some Buddhist meditation centres facing difficulties due to rising commodity prices
Due to rising commodity prices, Buddhist meditation centres are facing difficulties in providing food, Sayadaws of some meditation centres said.

The cost of commodity prices has increased compared to previous years, and on the other hand, the number of donors for the centres has decreased, making it more difficult than last year, they said.
Regarding the current situation of opening of the meditation centres, Sayadaw Pathan Yaykyi/Yayhsu Sayadaw Bhaddanta Vamnita of Aung Myay Bodhi Alodawpyae Dhamma Yeiktha Monastery in Hmawbi Township, Yangon Region, said ““the Aung Myay Bodhi Alodawpyae Dhamma Yeiktha Monastery has many visitors to meditate every year, and we will try to open the meditation centre despite the difficulties this year.”

The number of people coming to meditate at some of the meditation centres that have opened is increasing, and the centres are facing difficulties, Sayadaw Ashin Ottamasara of Thabawa Meditation Centre, said.
Sayadaw Ashin Ottamasara has opened hundreds of local and international Buddhist meditation centres and is engaged in many charitable activities including providing religious centers, nursing homes, health care and caring for family members with housing and food needs. Sayadaw Bhaddanta Vamnita has opened a Buddhist meditation centre and is also engaged in charitable activities including donation of thousands of bottles of water to COVID-19 centers during the COVID-19 pandemic period.
