State Administration Council Member Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo, said that state-owned and privately-owned factories and workshops must cooperate to ensure the high-quality industrial products. General Mya Htun Oo, who is also the chairman of the Industrial Development commission, made the remarks at Commission’s work coordination meeting held on May 27.

The One Stop Service (OSS) programme needs to be considered in carrying out industrial development activities. The responsible ministries have been designated to carry out the 16 tasks of the Industrial Development Commission and the relevant ministries must take systematic measures to support the industrial development of the country, said General Mya Tun Oo. He also added that construction materials such as cement and steel now are high in demand for rehabilitation processes it is necessary to support the full operation of factories that have already been built locally, while simultaneously increasing new factory projects.
Efforts are being made to produce import-substitute products using domestic raw materials and to manufacture finished product locally by importing the semi-finished products. This will reduce the foreign currency expenditure and create more job opportunities, said General Mya Tun Oo.
