The Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA) reported that foreign investment in Myanmar in the 2024-2025 fiscal year exceeded US$690 million.
In the last fiscal year, 60 new foreign investment projects entered the country, with an investment volume of US$690.189 million.
In the 2023-2024 fiscal year, foreign investment volume was just over US$661 million.
Therefore, compared to the same fiscal year, the investment volume in the 2024-2025 fiscal year has increased by more than US$28 million compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year.
In the 2024-2025 fiscal year, the manufacturing sector saw the largest number of investment projects, with 52, followed by 1 in the agriculture sector, 2 in the energy sector, 1 in the transportation and communications sector, and 4 in the service sector.
The investment amount of more than 50 companies in the manufacturing sector exceeded US$182 million, while the energy sector was over US$8 million.
Similarly, the investment amount in the transportation and communications sector was over US$87 million, and the service sector was over US$51 million.
The investment in the oil and gas sector in the 2024-2025 fiscal year increased by US$357 million.
Among the investments, Singapore’s investment volume was the largest, followed by China and Thailand.
