The Ministry of Health has issued health warnings, including prevention from heatstroke to the public to be healthy and happy during the upcoming Myanmar New Year festival. The warning includes staying in shaded areas during the midday sun to prevent heatstroke, using umbrellas and hats when going outside, drinking clean water frequently to prevent dehydration, and being especially careful not to drink alcohol, as it can make you more susceptible to heatstroke.
In addition, the warning states to use only clean water when playing the water to prevent water-borne diseases, to be careful not to get water in your eyes, ears, or mouth, and to avoid spraying high-pressure water directly on the face. In addition, notice has been given to be careful not to slip on wet roads to prevent injuries and accidents, and to follow traffic rules. The advisory also states that drivers should totally avoid drinking alcohol while driving.
In addition, the advisory also recommends washing hands frequently to maintain good personal hygiene, eating fresh and clean food, and covering food properly to prevent flies and other contaminants from entering. In addition, if you are feeling tired or injured due to heat stress, you should contact your nearest health care clinic or public hospital immediately for medical treatment.
