U Aung Kyaw Moe, a representative of the Meiktila Constituency (1) of the Mandalay Region Hluttaw, was elected as the Speaker of the Mandalay Region Hluttaw, and U Kyaw Myint, a representative of the Yamethin Constituency (1), was elected as the Deputy Speaker.The first day of the regular session of the third Mandalay Region Hluttaw began at 10 a.m. on March 20 at the Regional Hluttaw Conference Hall in Mandalay.
U Thein Lwin, a representative of the Region Hluttaw, was elected as the Presiding Chairperson of the Mandalay Region Hluttaw, and delivered a speech at the sesson. Then, the Hluttaw representatives took the oath, signed the oath, reported on the status of the Hluttaw representatives’ attendance at the meeting, and received the decisions of the Hluttaw. Next, the elected Hluttaw Speaker and Deputy Speaker took the oath and signed the oath in front of the Chairperson.
After that, the chairperson handed over the responsibility to the Speaker of the Hluttaw, and the Speaker of the Hluttaw delivered a welcome speech. The third Mandalay Region Hluttaw was attended by 35 representatives from the Union Solidarity and Development Party, 18 representatives from the Tatmadaw, eight representatives from the National Unity Party, five representatives from the People’s Pioneer Party, four representatives from the People’s Party, one representative from the Shan and Nationalities Democratic Party (White Tiger Party), and one representative from the Shan ethnic representative, a total of 72 representatives.
