The Nay Pyi Taw Municipal Development Committee has announced that all 225 red-level staff housing buildings damaged by the Mandalay earthquake will be completed by May this year. The renovation and construction work will begin in the second week of December 2025.
The construction work will be carried out by the Myanmar Construction Industry Federation (120 units), the Myanmar Licensed Contractors Association (61 units), The Nay Pyi Taw Municipal Development Committee is currently renovating (12) of the (32) buildings under the plans of the ministries, and more than 10 percent of the works have been completed. A total of (99) companies are simultaneously carrying out the renovation of these red-level buildings under the management of two major associations and departments, and the Nay Pyi Taw Municipal Development Committee is closely supervising them by forming (7) working groups.
The renovation of the red-level buildings, which were damaged by the Mandalay earthquake, will be completed by 30 percent in the 2025-2026 fiscal year, and 70 percent in the coming 2026-2027 fiscal year.
