The ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) projects have increased to more than 3,800, and currently, more than 75 percent of them have been implemented, said Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr. Wah Wah Maung.
The Union Minister made the remarks at the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) 2025 Implementation Working Committee Coordination Meeting held at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations in Nay Pyi Taw on October 10.
When the ASEAN Economic Community was launched in 2016, there were only over 1,700 AEC projects, but now there are over 3,800. Currently, more than 75 percent of the 3,800 projects have been implemented, and 90 percent are expected to be completed by the end of 2025, and the remaining projects will continue to be implemented after 2025. ASEAN has formulated the ASEAN Vision 2045, which aims to achieve its future goals for the next 20 years.
The ASEAN Economic Community will formulate and implement four five-year action plans under the 20 year time frame of the ASEAN Vision 2045, Union Minister Dr. Wah Wah Maung said. Myanmar has formed the ASEAN Economic Community 2025 Implementation Working Committee with 22 sectoral working committees.
ASEAN regional economic cooperation will also create opportunities for Myanmar’s economic development.
