The future of the country will be bright only if the upcoming election is successful, said Dr. Aye Maung, Chairman of the Arakan Front Party, in response to a question from One News after a press conference of political parties including the Union Solidarity and Development Party held at the Sky Star Hotel in Yangon on August 14.
Dr. Aye Maung said that since the laws regarding elections have been enacted, the election can lead to the end of a conflict. He said that the participation of people is needed to hold the election successfully. Preparations are already underway to participate in the election, said U Kyaw Swar Soe, Chairman of the Myanmar Farmers’ Development Party.
According to the current situation, the Union Election Commission has announced that the election will be held in 267 townships. In addition, both the First Past the Post (FPTP) and Proportional Representation (PR) systems used previously will be used in the upcoming election.
