The Central Bank of Myanmar announced that it sold nearly one million yuan at the rate of one yuan for 542 kyats and one million baht at the rate of one baht for 131.50 kyats on February 18. The sale was made through the FX Market Online Trading Platform which includes the Central Bank, AD-licensed banks and exporters and importers.
It is learnt that as the Central Bank sells US dollar, Chinese yuan and Thai baht, there has been a decline in exchange rates in the foreign exchange market, which is also convenient for exporters and importers. The Central Bank of Myanmar sold more than 900,000 Chinese yuan and more than one million Thai baht on February 17.
