Myanmar citizens and other nationals residing in Myanmar are able to apply for all types of visas to enter Thailand only through the new e-Visa system, starting January 1, 2025, according to the statement released by the Thai Embassy in Yangon on December 12.
For more information about the system , applicants could visit the Thai e-Visa website, and visa applicants no longer need to come to the Thai embassy in person to present their passports and documents necessary for visa applications.

After submitting the applications through the E-visa system, applicants can pay the visa fee in USD cash at the Thai Embassy’s Visa Section from 9 to 11:30 am on their appointment days.

If visa applicants submit incomplete documents or fake documents, their visa applications will be rejected. The processing period for visa applications under the e-Visa system will be 10 to 15 days. Once the visa application submitted through the e-Visa system is approved, the applicant will receive a confirmation email that must be printed to show at the Thai airport and the Thai Immigration counter, the statement said.

Besides, it is learnt that the applications of those who have made reservations on appointment dates for visa application on the Thai Consulate website will only be received until December 24, 2024, and visa applications will not be accepted from December 25 to 31 to prepare for making changes in the e-Visa system.
