In order to prevent the spread of Mpox (monkey pox) disease into Myanmar, people entering/exiting the border are being strictly monitored for the disease, Dr. Than Naing Soe, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health told to One News.
At present, Mpox (monkey pox) disease has been diagnosed in one infected patient in Myanmar’s neighboring country, Thailand, and one infected patient has also been detected in the Philippines.
People should not be indifferent about monkey pox, live with health awareness and caution and if you have any symptoms, you need to go to the nearest health center, said Dr. Than Naing Soe.
