More than 1,700 basic education schools in 9 regions and states have been temporarily closed due to floods, according to Ministry of Education.
Until now, due to the rising water level of the Ayeyarwaddy River and the Chindin River, 1,749 basic education schools have been temporarily closed in Kachin State, Karen State, Mon State, Sagaing Region, Bago Region, Magway Region Mandalay Region, Yangon Region and Ayeyarwaddy Region.
The Ministry of Education has replied that plan to return to school on the weekend after the flood to ensure that the students do not fail to learn and do not suffer any damage.
