The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation(MONREC) Union Minister U Khin Maung Yi said that climate change and natural disasters are the main challenges in achieving sustainable development.
The union minister, who is also the chairman of the committee, said this at the fourth work coordination meeting of the environmental protection committee held at the meeting hall, on the morning of June 26.
Myanmar is in the process of establishing business plans that will be implemented to reduce and adapt to climate change at the national level, he said.
In addition, plans have been drawn up to reduce cross-border smoke pollution caused by forest fires and other fires that burn for various reasons.
