Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann stressed on Friday (September 6) that his squad was not completely new following the recent retirements of four key players.
Despite losing four “very important and experienced players”, Nagelsmann said that he was not left with a completely new squad on the eve of their UEFA Nations League home encounter with Hungary.
Germany veterans Toni Kross, Thomas Mueller, Manuel Neuer and Ilkay Gundogan all retired from international football following the Euros.
Nagelsmann also hit back at those who have criticised him for voicing his ambition to win the World Cup.
