Myanmar national football team lost to Indonesian team 0-1 in the first match of group opening in the ASEAN Cup 2024 held on 9 December at Thuwunna Stadium.
Both teams played in utmost effort to win as it is opening match of the Group but Indonesian team who was good at attacking won the match. The guest team scored their one and only winning goal in the 76th minute. An Indo player netted the ball that came to him through a throw-in and a header with a shot in the goal area.
After conceding the first initial goal, Myanmar team lost the game tactic and missed the opportunity to counter and defeated in the match . Myanmar team will play against the Philippines at away group match on 12 December and it is necessary to gain 3 points in the match because Myanmar team defeated in the group opening match.
Myanmar team under chief coach U Myo Hlaing Win in Group (B) of ASEAN Cup 2024 has to compete with Indonesia, Vietnam,Philippines and Loas.
