It was reported that Chairman of the State Administration Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing provided a total of Ks. 110 billion has been allocated for the rehabilitation work in Sagaing and Mandalay regions.
The funds were allocated during a separate meeting on April 19 with district-level officials and village heads in Sagaing and Mandalay.
Ks.50 billion have been allocated for reconstruction work in Sagaing Region and 60 billion kyats for the reconstruction work in Mandalay Region.
In addition, the government will provide cement, steel bars and corrugated sheets required for construction work at reasonable prices to rebuild damaged buildings in Mandalay and Sagaing.
In addition, it is reported that financial support will be provided to damaged houses at reasonable interest rates based on their type of building.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing instructed that buildings, roads and bridges should be reconstructed to withstand an earthquake of up to 8 on the Richter scale.
He also called for collaborative efforts to increase the production of local agricultural products and MSME products, as well as earthquake recovery efforts.
