China will provide assistance and support for Myanmar’s peace process to the best of its capability, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ms. Mao Ning said on December 10 in response to a question from AFP at the ministry’s regular press briefing.
Currently, China is closely monitoring the situation in northern Myanmar, and the conflicts and chaos are occurring only in Myanmar, Ms. Mao Ning said.
China has called on relevant organizations in Myanmar to implement a ceasefire as soon as possible and to ensure safety of Chinese projects, businesses and personnel in Myanmar.
In addition, Ms. Morning said that China would continue to provide utmost assistance and support to Myanmar’s peace process through accelerating the peace talks.
