Union Minister for the Ministry of Home Affairs, Lieutenant General Tun Tun Naung discussed matters related to cooperation in combating online fraud and online gambling in Myawaddy region, Kayin State together with Ms. Ma Jia, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar and Mr Liu Zhongyi, Assistant Minister of Public Security of the People’s Republic of the of China.
The meeting was held at the conference hall of the Ministry of Home Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw on February 14, and was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, representatives from the Chinese side and officials from the Chinese Embassy.
During the meeting, they discussed issues related to promote cooperation between Myanmar and China on security and law enforcement matters, jointly prevent and combat cross-border crimes including online gambling and telecommunications fraud, and promote friendly cooperation between the two countries.
In addition, they discussed the help and rescue situation of Chinese citizens who have requested due to facing difficulties in Myanmar and the status of rescue and transfer, and the prompt deportation of foreigners who have entered illegally in accordance with the law .
They also discussed the matters related to deportation of foreigners illegally present in Myawaddy, Kayin State, in accordance with the procedures and holding a high-level meeting between China, Myanmar and Thailand to effectively implement the anti-online fraud and online gambling activities in the Myawaddy region.
After that, they exchanged views on the current cooperation between the two ministries and the issues related to continue the future cooperation.
