Ministry of Health spokesperson Dr. Than Naing Soe said that a suspected case of monkeypox was found at the Mayan Chaung checkpoint, Kyaik Hto Township.
On September 5th, a male passenger on a bus came from Hpa-An was found to be a suspected monkeypox patient and he was taken to Kyaik Hto Public Hospital.
Dr. Than Naing Soe said that laboratory tests have been conducted on suspected monkeypox patients and will be released soon.
World Health Organization (WHO) declared Mpox (monkey pox) an international public health emergency on August 14.
