Myanmar and China signed a memorandum of understanding on establishment of a police cooperation center between the two countries and a memo on assistance of police equipment and supplies worth five million Chinese yuan.
During his visit on attending the 2024 Conference of Global Public Security Cooperation Forum in Lianyungang, China, Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, member of the State Administration Council, met with China’s Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong on September 9 and signed them.
Union Minister Lt. Gen Yar Pyae participated in the discussions at the forum and said that international cooperation to combat criminal gangs that have caused prolonged violence and conflicts, realistic cooperation in the field of law enforcement for ensuring stability of social life and safety of people’s lives and homes and a joint-fight against traditional and non-traditional security challenges must be emphasized.
Later on, the Union Minister met with Minister of Public Security of China Mr. Wang Xiaohong in the afternoon on September 9. At the meeting, they discussed cooperation on security and law enforcement between the two countries.
