Myanmar won the bronze medal of ASEAN Smoke Free Award, according to Ministry of Information on August 1.
Among the established smoke-free areas in Myanmar, Bagan Ancient Culture Area competed for the ASEAN Smoke-Free Area Award.
The selection committee made a selection based on the specified scoring rules and the gold medal award went to Iioilo City of Philippines, the silver medal went to Bogor City of Indonesia and the bronze medal was jointly won by the Saensuk Municipality of Thailand and the Bagan Ancient Cultural Regions of Myanmar.
The ASEAN Smoke Free Region Award will be presented at the 16th ASEAN Health Ministers’ Meeting to be held in Vientiane, Laos on August 8.
