State Administration Council Chairman and Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said that it is necessary to increase the image of the Government as an e-Government one to keep abreast with international standards.
The Senior General who is also the patron of the e-Government Steering Committee, made the comment at the meeting of the e-Government Steering Committee held on July 26 at the Ministry of Transport and Communications in Nay Pyi Taw.
He also urged the attendees to the meeting to make efforts without losing sight of development of people-centered e-Government services.
The Senior General said that according to the UN e-Government Development Index (EGDI) released by the United Nations, Myanmar ranked 169th in 2016 among the 193 member countries and had become at the rank of 134th in 2022. In the UN’s e-Participation Index -EPI which shows the rate of the needs of the people, their expectations, opinions and suggestions, the country ranked from 170th position in 2016 to 117th in 2022.
