Efforts must be expanded from the eradication of illiteracy to the elimination of non-readers, said SAC President Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
He said this at the opening ceremony of the Myanmar National Education Conference (2024) held on June 25.
He also said that a plan to eradicate illiteracy should be developed and implemented for the entire population, including the rural population, and reading groups should be opened continuously to promote reading.
Learning advanced education is not only to obtain a degree, but only when many educated graduates who have a thorough knowledge of quality advanced sciences emerge will be more beneficial for the country, he said.
