The Myanmar Embassy in Singapore released a statement that the foodstuffs and consumer goods donated by the people of Singapore to the flood-affected people of Myanmar started arriving in Yangon on September 23 and 24.
Social organizations in Singapore have donated 10 tons of consumer goods, as humanitarian supplies, such as nutritious rice bags, clothes for adults and children, hats, shoes and soaps through the Myanmar Embassy in Singapore.
The donated items will be transported free of charge by MNA and MAI airlines flying between Singapore and Yangon from September 23r to 27 and more than two tons of the supplies started arriving at Yangon International Airport on September 23and 24.
The donated supplies from the people of Singapore through the relevant charity organizations will be sent to the people in the flood-hit areas across the country under the arrangement by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, the statement said.
