The humanitarian relief supplies sent by the Government of India and the ASEAN Coordination Center for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA Centre) for the flood-affected areas of Myanmar arrived here on September 17 and were handed over to the Myanmar Government, according to the state-run newspaper.
The humanitarian supplies sent by the Indian Government arrived at Nay Pyi Taw Airport on September 17 evening, and the officials concerned handed them over to the Myanmar government.
More than 30 tons of supplies sent by India include mosquito nets, instant foodstuffs, kitchen appliances, solar lamps, generators and personal hygiene items. Similarly, Indian naval vessels carrying foodstuffs, clothes, medicines, tarpaulin and temporary tents also arrived at Thilawa Port in Yangon on September 17 evening.
Moreover, more than 300,000 US dollars worth of aid items provided by AHA (Centre) arrived at Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw international airports on September 17.
The Government is carrying out emergency response and rehabilitation tasks for the flood-affected people with the principle of leaving no one, and the relief supplies will be sent to the flood-affected areas as soon as possible.
